Don Corleon-produced reggae vocalist Protoje channels '80s star Ini Kamoze for his latest track "Kingston Be Wise." The song riffs off Kamoze's "England Be Nice" from the 1984 release Statement album.
Awareness of Kamoze's music has skyrocketed ever since Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley sampled Kamoze's "World of Reggae" on his track "Welcome to Jamrock."
Protoje's new interpretation follows up on the Jr. Gong song with a similar commentary about Jamaica's capital city.
