Joseph Hill of the roots reggae trio Culture
passed away Saturday August 19 while on tour in Germany.
The singer had been suffering from liver disease and was being treated by a doctor. Hill and his band were known for their marathon touring schedule that circled the globe annually.
Hill effectively
was Culutre, although members Telford Nelson and Albert Walker contributed greatly to the overall harmonic sweetness of the group. Culutre are indeed one of reggae's most prominent and influential vocal trio bands, along with Black Uhuru, Mediatations and Israel Vibration.
Expect a follow-up post with a musical tribute to Culture in coming days.
