Digicel Rising Stars is Jamaica's "American Idol" franchise. The show follows the same format as the US program and countless international versions: Singers go head to head and are judged by a panel of three critics.
What's different about Rising Stars is how well the young talent perform material from Jamaica's rich 50-year music history, from ska to the present.
